#MyMusicStory

I’ll never forget my very first concert. It was on November 14th 2009 - but I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It was a small venue in the middle of downtown Toronto. I went with a good friend of mine, and we managed to get up close to the front. In fact we were only a foot or two away from the stage where ‘Mayday Parade’ would be serenading us all night. My hair was dark then, and my eyeliner was thick. Little did I know, all of that makeup would be streaming down my face soon. After the opening bands finished up, and Mayday Parade got halfway through their setlist, I heard the piano intro for “Miserable at Best”, and this wave of emotion came over me. That’s when it hit me. This is what I wanted to do with the rest of my life; to sing to the crowd and have people singing back every single word to me… To play guitar and perform on stage every night, making people forget about their problems for a little while and just focus on the music. I just stood there crying happy tears. In that moment, I knew I had finally found my calling, and my passion in life.. it changed everything. And that moment is something I will never forget.

From a young age she showed a great love and passion for music through her songwriting and acoustic guitar playing. “Both my parents are songwriters, and have always been very musical.
