Shirley Horn - "You Won’t Forget Me". This particular version has the legendary Miles Davis playing on it. It was Miles last recording, and it  is stunning.

I actually first heard Shirley Horn play it in Chicago at Grant Park where the Chicago Jazz fest first started. I was walking across the park...starting front the edge of the street entering the grounds. l  was  playing later in the day. Shirley Horn was doing her soundcheck, it would have been around 3 or 4 pm. l  was in a trance as l started to get closer and closer to what was the most spell inducing sound. So soft. So commanding, and this was just a soundcheck.

I was so blown away by the power fullness and at the same time her understated deliverance of this beautiful  piece. It still sends shivers up my spine when l hear it. She was a gift from the universe for sure.
